However, when we compare the Vertix 2 vs Fenix 7 battery-life for the expedition GPS mode, the Fenix 7 offers longer battery-life. When we also consider the Solar and Sapphire Solar edition of the Fenix 7, the Fenix still offers much more than the Vertix 2 on the expedition GPS mode.
However, for the daily use, the Coros Vertix 2 has 60-days of battery-life which is huge in comparison to what the Fenix 7 can offer (18-days non-solar models, 22-days solar models).

Smart Features: Health & Fitness & Tracking
When it comes to the smart features, both the Vertix 2 and the Fenix 7 are very competitive. To begin with, Garmin Fenix 7 has too many health and fitness features. Yet, some premium features are only available in the Fenix 7 Sapphire Solar edition but not in the standard Fenix 7 or Fenix 7 Solar. Surprisingly, these premium features are included in the Vertix 2 by default with a very reasonable price.
- The Fenix 7 has LiveTrack and Incident Detection features which are not included in the Vertix 2. If you have your phone with you and connected to your Fenix 7, your family members can follow your workout in real time via LiveTrack. Also, with the help of Incident Detection feature in the Fenix 7, if there is an anormal activity in your health status, it can send a message to your emergency contacts via your smartphone (must be connected to watch).
- The pre-loaded topo map feature is only available in the Fenix 7 Sapphire Solar but not in the Fenix 7 and the 7 Solar. On the other hand, this feature is incorporated in the Vertix 2.
- The GPS accuracy of both watches are great and almost the same. Both Vertix 2 and Fenix 7 are premium outdoor and adventure smart watches. Generally speaking, the Fenix 7 offers more smartwatch features. However, the premium features that is being expected from an outdoor watch are only included in the higher-end variant, the Fenix 7 Sapphire Solar edition. Yet, it is very expensive.
However, you can get these outdoor features with Vertix 2 and will pay less since its price is the same as the standard Fenix 7. Also, we would prefer the Vertix 2, since it offers more battery-life for the daily use.
The features that come with Vertix 2 such as Topo Maps, 32-GB memory, Titanium bezel, Sapphire glass, 280 x 280 pixels, dual-frequency GNSS comes with only the Fenix 7X Sapphire Solar but not with the standard model Fenix 7.
The ECG is not even included in the Fenix Family whereas Vertix 2 has it.
The only reason why you should choose Garmin Fenix may be that it has the Solar option. There are no solar panels on the Coros Vertix 2. So, if you’re planning an expedition, the Garmin Fenix 7 Solar will be better than the Coros Vertix 2 as it offers more battery life.
